Experimenting with Flash for Elemental Harmonics
Being in school for graphic design and having the drummer of a band as a good friend lead to many nights of experimental work using his band as my imaginary client. With a futuristic and ethereal sound, Elemental Harmonics demanded a site that reflected their music. The idea was to have the user explore the different atmospheres, just like the band’s music does.
The top tier, space, would be a place to listen to and interact with the bands music. On Earth, it’s down to business with tour dates, and band bios. Finally deep underground is where the EH community gathers to post stories, have discussions, and where the band networks with it’s base.
While the site never got launched. It served as a great learning tool in Flash, site architecture, and usability/navigation. I also wanted the user to experiment with accidental discovery, just as the jam-heavy band would on stage. Check out this skeleton site below. It may take up to 10 minutes to load. Please be patient with this unfinished work.
