The computer companies allow the software because it allows them to sell the computer at a discount. Most people new to computers cannot differentiate this “bloatware” from meaningful software.
I just bought a computer and I want to get rid of this “bloatware,” what should I do?
1. *Best Option* – Do a fresh and complete re-install of Windows, the way . This option is not always available since most computers now come with either simply a recovery disk, or no disk at all. However if you have a copy Windows, I highly recommend this option. It can be compared to putting thrift store clothes through the wash before you put them on for the first time.
2. Install and run- here is the best part- The PC Decrapifier. You’ve got to love a company that tells it like it is. The FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) of their site says that it is compatible with Windows XP and up.
3. Go to Add/Remove Programs in the settings and get rid of programs manually. Most programs can be removed with no harm to the computer. It helps, like most things in life, to google the name of the program along with the word “bloatware,” and read some of the articles in order to make an informed decision.
