Yahoo Answers – Virtual Volunteer Work

January 14, 2010

One of the things I pride myself on is the ability to help non tech-savvy people with their computer problems in a language they can understand. I have been reading Trust Agents where they recommend answering questions on Yahoo Answers to gain experience helping people with their problems. I thought it was going to be straight forward and easy – I don’t know why I thought that. It has, so far, been a very rewarding and positive experience which tests my ability to explain steps to someone I have never met.

I now devote about 30 minutes to an hour every other day, sitting in the Computers & Internet section trying to be helpful. It’s kind of addicting too.

What other ways can you volunteer your time over the internet and gain experience in your craft?
