I have been trying to conjure something to write about for a few days now with no luck. I’m trying to stay true to the biggest rule of social media and blogging; be yourself. Without forcing a post teaching something, I though I could take this opportunity to let you know about blog posts I am currently reading. (My Google Reader has 1000+ unread posts right now. I feel like that is a right-of-passage of sorts.)
6 Ways To Get Organized And Centralized With Social Media
While trying to balance reading my feeds, posting to my blog, and podcasting for work, an article from Six Pixels of Separation called out to me: 6 Ways To Get Organized And Centralized With Social Media. I’ve already been starring the interesting blog posts I find so that they are easily accessible to me after work hours, but through this post I learned that I could save my Google Alerts in my Google Reader. This saves me at least an hour a week at work.
Share Your 2010 Blogging Goals
I thought I would only be reading social media blogs, but sometime recently I found myself reading more blogging blogs. I wanted to set this blog up because I felt people in my field of work had them, and I needed to compete. I have since seen the community aspect of blogging and I am interested now in connecting as much as possible with folks. As with everything, setting definable goals is healthful and productive. I’m reading this post from The Blog Hearld to get ideas for goals I should set for myself with The Wildfire Companion.
6 Ways to Building Trust through Social Media
I’ve read a million times that I need to build relationships through social networks, but until I started putting it into practice at work I was just whistlin’ dixie. The way I perceive Twitter has changed and I have rethought about what I post on the Facebook page. Now, I’m reading everything I can about trust and relationships, making sure not to miss anything important. That’s why I’m reading this post from the Twtr Coach.

Those are the posts that stood out to me this week. Special mentions to John Haydon, Brian Solis, and Nathan Hangen for having blogs too good to sift through in a day. I’ve got a lot of back-reading to do.
On another note, I got my first link from another blog this week. *tear* It’s from Alexa Samuel’s article, 8 Great answers: What is your *best* job search tip for newbies using social media?. She put out a call on Twitter asking for tips and I answered with my post about using Google Reader and RSS feeds to simplify a job search. I have since discovered her blog to be a down-to-earth discussion on social media and how to start a blog. Thanks Alexa!
William, you are most welcome! Thanks for the compliment. Let me know if you need a tissue for those tears. ;)
