The Social Network Spider Web – A Look At Media Distribution

I looked at the whiteboard and couldn’t believe that my social media plan-of-attack looked so messy. It was time for a coffee-fueled cleaning session. I decided to make a distribution flow chart organized by what I was sharing, and branching every possible option using MindNode (generally used for mind maps).

Social Media Talk From Outdoor Retailer Conference

I am bummed that I wasn’t able to attend the #guerillapanel social media event/discussion at the winter Outdoor Retailer conference. This is the second time I have seen footage from this conference, and I now realize I need to be there to build relationships and engage with other social media folks in the outdoor industry.

Main Street USA Should Be On Twitter

With a small budgets, a local customer base, and a knowledge that you can’t beat the bigger competitor, it’s almost a no-brainer that you should be utilizing the social web. You aren’t even getting the short end of the stick here, it’s some of the best marketing you can do! (Although you do need to be creative and honest, which can be tough.) That is why it is so amazing to me that more small businesses are not on Twitter, and do not have a Facebook page yet.
