With a small budgets, a local customer base, and a knowledge that you can’t beat the bigger competitor, it’s almost a no-brainer that you should be utilizing the social web. You aren’t even getting the short end of the stick here, it’s some of the best marketing you can do! (Although you do need to be creative and honest, which can be tough.) That is why it is so amazing to me that more small businesses are not on Twitter, and do not have a Facebook page yet.

witter users needed a way to sift through and organize the millions of tweets out there. They came up with using the # symbol, which they call a hash-tag, to group similar tweets. Do a search in Twitter for #Job in and you will start to see real-time updates of job listings and tips from around the world. Search #job #socialmedia or #job Georgia in Twitter and you will start to understand how to sift through job tweets yourself. This concept is exactly like tagging a photo of your friends in Facebook.
